Frankly, I don’t fancy fast food. They may taste good but does a lot of harm to our body system in a long run. Why do you think there are so many obese children nowadays? If we can let our children have it their way with food, I am very sure majority of them will end up choosing the fast and unhealthy version.

That is why, we as parents must instill in them a healthy lifestyle which consists of healthy food, proper exercise, discipline etc … the list goes on.

Healthy eating doesn’t mean we have to eat tasteless morsels day in day out. A healthy diet consists of a balance amount of carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, fibre, clean water and minerals that our body needs. Less on deep-fried, processed food, sweet stuffs and overly salty dried thingies should keep us on the right track.

1 free range chicken (cut into 8 pieces)
3 shallots
1 Tbsp dried chili powder
1 Thumb-size turmeric
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 Tbsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp sea salt (to taste)
a drizzle of organic coconut oil

  1. Pound the turmeric root and shallots together using a mortar and pestle until fine.
  2. Mix all the pounded ingredients together with the chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, pepper, sea salt and coconut oil. Marinade the chicken evenly with this paste and keep refrigerated for a couple of hours.
  3. Pre-heat the healsio at super grill for 25 minutes.
  4. Leave chicken at room temperature before grilling in the healsio.
