Vanilla Pods (Vanilla Beans)

Vanilla Pods also known as vanilla beans are seed pods that comes from an orchid plant called ‘vanilla planifolia’ which grows well in tropical climate. This orchid plant stands out above all the rest purely because they produce a highly sought after commodity called “Vanilla”. Vanilla pods are green while they are fresh from the plant, they are harvested, dried or cured and turn to dark brownish colored pods (as shown in my photos).

The coriander plant is an ancient wonder which originated from ancient Eygpt, traveled all the way to China about a thousand years ago. Now is a popular herb used in South East Asian cooking.
